About Us
& History
Many residents in town find that giving back to their community is a very rewarding experience
We’re all pretty busy these days - but usually can find some portion of our time to make sure we support our neighbors.
If you are so inclined, the Boxborough Minutemen is a great organization for you.
Your amount of involvement and time commitment is entirely up to you!
Since 1967
The Boxborough District Minutemen Company was founded to perpetuate the memory of the Minutemen of 1775 and their historic fight for the cause of liberty and justice, as well as to
Celebrate their heritage and customs
Support and encourage a continuing interest in the history of America’s Revolutionary War and colonial era, especially to the youth of Boxborough
Promote good citizenship among our fellow countrymen by our example
Perform philanthropic deeds and services that benefit our community
Community
We organize community fund raising and social events, such as the Fifer’s Day Festival that provides a large portion of the funds used to support our community service activities.
The Company actively participates in historical commemorative events, such as the annual reenactment of the April 19, 1775 Minutemen march to the Battle of Concord.
We also perform community service activities such as Adopt-A-Highway, and participate in local celebratory events such as parades and civic dedications.
Let’s Meetup!
The Company is a fun group from the Acton - Boxborough community. We organize numerous social events throughout the year, providing a strong network of people with diverse backgrounds and interests.
You’ll find us at local community celebrations such as the Flag Day at Blanchard School Memorial Day Parade, Luther Blanchard Day and others.
Company meetings are held typically once a month at the Boxborough Community Center - except during July and August.
In Support of Youth
Each year since the 1970's, the Boxborough Minutemen Company has awarded scholarships to Boxborough students at the Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. The Company sponsors activities for the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and provides financial donations to a variety of community projects.
Living History
The company participated in its first "Isaac Davis Trail" march on April 19, 1967, and has marched the trail each year since that date. In addition, the Company has participated in the 200th anniversary re-enactment of the Boston Massacre, the Bunker Hill Battle Re-Enactment, Concord and Lexington parades, Fourth of July observances in the Town of Burlington, Harvard, Needham and Bolton, the Bedford Liberty Pole parade, Crown Resistance Day in Acton, and many other events in surrounding towns.
